Both the Colorado Rapids and FC Dallas look to respond from disappointing results when they meet on Wednesday night.

Host Colorado (6-3-3, 21 points) is playing for a second time at Dick's Sporting Goods Park five days after settling for a 1-1 draw Saturday against a San Jose Earthquakes team that hasn't won in its last nine games.

Cole Bassett pulled the Rapids level eight minutes after halftime to cancel out the opener from Chofis Lopez.

But Colorado put only two of its 14 shots on target. That lack of offensive threat is one reason the Rapids have only five points from their first three matches of four consecutive home games.

"Even though it's a point, it's still disappointing at home," said midfielder and captain Jack Price. "Like I said, we can put it right on Wednesday and we're going to start fast against Dallas."

Dallas (2-6-5, 11 points) arrives in Colorado perhaps feeling better about its most recent performance, if not the outcome.

In a second consecutive away match, Dallas matched the Timbers with two shots on target and nearly did so in terms of possession, passes completed and chances created.

But Jeremy Ebobisse's 84th-minute goal doomed Dallas to a second consecutive loss.

Ricardo Pepi was arguably the most dangerous Dallas attacker on Saturday, but the 18-year-old fell short of scoring his fifth goal of the season in what was his sixth consecutive start.

"It was a great match from the team and I feel like we got unlucky," Pepi said. "Last 15 minutes, it felt like they were all over us and we should be able to manage that game better but it was one of our best performances of the year."

Dallas has yet to score in two previous meetings against Colorado this year: a 0-0 draw in Texas on opening weekend, and a 3-0 loss in Colorado that was both teams' last game in May before a three-week break from competition due to international play.
