Beijing, Dec. 23 (SANA)Chinas Midea Group has unveiled an advanced six-armed humanoid robot designed to carry out complex industrial tasks, during the Greater Bay Area Economic Forum 2025 held in the southern city of Guangzhou.
The forum brings together policymakers, industry leaders and innovators to promote economic cooperation and technological development across the GuangdongHong KongMacao Greater Bay Area, one ofChinas most dynamic economic regions.
According to the specialized platform Humanoids Daily, the robot, named Miro Yu, represents the third generation of humanoid robots developed by Midea Group. It features a human-like structure equipped with six arms and wheeled legs, enabling it to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with high precision.
The robot is capable of lifting and assembling heavy components, rapidly switching tools, and rotating 360 degrees on the spot, making it suitable for advanced manufacturing environments that require flexibility and efficiency.
Midea Group plans to deploy the robot at its factory in Wuxi, which produces high-end washing machines, before the end of 2025. The company expects the robot to increase production line efficiency by up to 30 percent, in what is seen as a practical test of the six-arm design compared with conventional two-arm robotic systems.
The unveiling reflects Chinas ongoing efforts to integrate robotics and artificial intelligence into industrial production, supporting automation and technological innovation across key manufacturing sectors.
